This was my grandparents’ book of photographs from 1910 to 1935. It is absolutely fascinating. I love this page featuring the sportswoman of 1911 including ‘plucky pioneer’ of aviation Mrs Stocks and on other pages (not shown) cricket, golf, tennis and even the egg and spoon race. Mrs Lambert Chambers was the tennis champion of 1911. The text states that ‘The emancipation of women made very definite progress at this period.’
