Getting the boats...

...ready for a full day of rowing at the Talkin Tarn Regatta.

A 4am alarm for us this morning to get the Rooster down to Cumbria for his first race of the day.

And his first race of the day was his most successful race...a win for him and his partner in the J14 double. A nice wee tankard each was the reward for their victory.

He had two other races after that but they were not so successful in the quad races. On the whole though the club was fairly successful.

It was a busy regatta and it was a scorching hot day and the logistics of getting the boats on and off the water for different races meant that crews could be carrying and holding boats for about twenty minutes...it wasn’t for the faint hearted.

Grateful to get home tonight at the back of 9pm and for the pizza and glass of wine partaken thereafter.
