Ladybug Release

We went to the ladybug release at the community garden. Kids had a lot of fun playing with and releasing ladybugs all over various garden plots.
Sadly, the master gardeners did not plan super well, and decided to hand put ladybugs in small batches at the center of the garden. This resulted in what I now refer to as ‘the great ladybug massacre of 2018.’ As the ladybugs jumped around and off hands and bags, people walking to get more ladybugs were trampling the ones that were jumping around. It was not a great system. But, like I said, the kids still enjoyed themselves and managed to distribute many bugs.
