"Heavy Crowds"

After a walk with Maple this morning we went to Ganges, on Saltspring Island for supplies.    It takes our boat about 30 minutes.  Didn’t really want to go but the main reason was to get rid of some garbage and they take it by the harbor for a fee.     We usually don’t have much and send it home with whoever visits, but the kids didn’t have a spare inch in their car last week. There is no burning allowed in a burn barrel now so we have extra stuff even tho I try to be careful about packaging.   I do bring the recycling back to Seattle as that’s easiest and compost what I can…but the compostable paper plates for a crowd gets to be too much for my kitchen compost…as does the water use get to be too much for washing dishes…   It’s all a matter of balance. The birds are happy now…we bought a humongous bag of sunflower seeds…have been out since thursday.   And wine.  And food..too much of course, but I was there….so…  We got home, had a bite to eat and then just had to have a nap after that busy place.  :-)   would have enjoyed a coffee with blipper Nanzy19 but this was a ”quick” trip.   This is the government dock in Ganges Harbor. .H is putting a load on our little boat.. we got a nice close spot to carry it all to…thank goodness.    I enjoyed using a preset called “heavy crowds” to start with to try to jazz up this photo….it did rain this afternoon.  but not a lot.   Maybe more to come.   Maple missed us.  (Extra:  in the studio where she really doesn't like to be. But she needs to be "close"  next to the stool where I sit at my computer posting the blip. :-))
