Moth invasion, Alet les Bains

Just spent long weekend in Alet les Bains, a little French village in the Languedoc, and I have never seen so many moths ever! Apparently they have come over from India, but do not know what they are called. The village and countryside was teeming with them. Is anyone else familiar with this species?
