Ready For The Football

So England won a penalty shoot-out at the World Cup, at last. By the slimmest of margins games are won - after the late late equaliser from Colombia, penalties seemed to be going their way and a goal from their fourth penalty taker would have made it 4-2. Loads of pressure on the next English player to keep them in the tournament.  Except. The Colombian penalty hit the junction of bar and post. Still 3-2. The next English penalty was scored. 3-3. Colombia miss again and England score their fifth penalty to win the shoot-out 4-3. Although I write this some days later and therefore know the outcome of the next match I still felt this was shaping up to England's best chance of reaching a second World Cup Final. And if they do they will be defending Unofficial World Champions, a concept inspired by events after the last final they were in...
