8-year-old niece: i'mma toss this slipper onto the canopy.
me: whose slipper is that?
niece: mine.
me: what will you wear when your slipper is stuck up there?
niece: i'll get it down.
me: from all the way up there?
niece: i'll poke it down with a stick.

i won't argue with the rules for this game.
