Shallow

This lack of rain is getting to be a bit of a concern. All the fields are brown. And the rivers are so low. As we were around Penrith this afternoon I decided to have a look at the River Petterill and see how the drought was affecting it. We called in at Newton Reigny and this is where I took this photo. It's not easy to see, but the water is running very shallow indeed. No way do you usually see the bed of the river like this. See here. Not the same picture, as today I was actually standing on the blue footbridge looking the other way, but just look at the difference. 

And I did like the reflections and shadows.
