Lauterbrunnen Valley
We took another walk today, over midday (called the Stäublisegg ), to the west of Wengen. Despite steep stretches it was much less strenuous than yesterday. We took 2 1/2 hours, walking downwards below the cog railway and then crossing the track to walk back up to the town. The blip is the best view we had of the Lauterbrunnen valley, taken part way down, looking roughly southeast. At the top center peeking through the clouds is the Breithorn (3782 m vs the Jungfrau's 4158 m--it's partly visible on the left).
The extra shows the most interesting utility train we saw (of a half-dozen)--a reminder that the area's numerous railways serve other purposes than conveying vacationers. The men in orange jackets seemed mostly to be cutting grass (by hand!).
