Wide Wednesday . . . NATURE

The big pool of water in the foreground of this stopped me getting to the main river which flows past those trees in the background.  This is the Waimea River which flows into Tasman Bay.  Further up a cycleway crosses the river on its own special bridge.  There is a group working to restore the banks of the river using native plants to replace the weeds currently growing.  Back in the summer I did swim in it.  I see people exercising their dogs and in spring people will set up nets to catch whitebait.  It is an area of nature for all to enjoy.
