Back blip

Up early this morning to be ready to greet our Airbnb guests who had their flight last night cancelled from Nice and who'd said they'd arrive in Barcelona around 5.30/6.00am.  We agreed they could arrive at our house at 7.00, but they didn't actually arrive until 10.30am!  Poor things, they were on the bus and couldn't get any phone connection to let us know the journey was much longer than they'd been told and so we eventually got a text from them at 10.00am saying they were in a taxi to our house from the airport, where the bus had dropped them off.  Hazel and Franci, two young girls from South Korea will be with us till Friday and they seem lovely.  After a cup of tea and some pastries and a showers they headed down to the centre to La Boqueria food market and the barrio gotico.  We next bumped into them in the street at 10pm when they were coming in after dinner. 

It's soooo hot here at the moment - feels more like August heat then July.  Was good to water our patio plants after the weekend away and see they're surviving the heat more or less.  One of the succulents has scorched leaves, so is now in the shade.  We were a bit concerned a couple of months ago that the latest banana tree wasn't growing much in the right hand-side corner here.  We took the decision to cut it down and there are now five little banana trees growing in that corner! 

I did a few hours of online testing in the afternoon.  Good to feel ahead of the game in terms of my contract hours this month!  Tapas with Bb at night and the semi-finals of the World Cup.  Already booked our usual table at the Frankfurter for Wednesday night!
