Soft play and heavy heads
"Through my sleepless nights I've found
That in my dreamless sleep I'm bound
To one night hear the sound
Of you calling"
Fear of Falling, I am Kloot
Last night was amazing, so special. A church lit up with candles and an excited buzz in the pews. I Am Kloot are my favourite band and the fact that they originate from terraced houses two streets away from our home, makes their music resonate even more. They sing about Northern Skies and nights getting drunk in our local in a song entitled To The Brink.
I won't forget that gig in a hurry.
Today we had sore heads though. And babies and hangovers are a bad combination. The crying seems to pierce that little bit more.
We stayed at home and threw everything at our broken bodies - naps, tea, paracetamol, bacon, Haribo. Nothing worked.
My sister Jo arrived in the afternoon so we wheeled the pram out in the crisp Autumn air and took Audrey to Head Over Heels -which was probably a bad move on a Saturday. It was so busy. We sat in the cafe until the crowds of children thinned out and then took her into the soft play area. She really loves it in there (see pic of her with her Auntie Jo). So much so that she probably got over-stimulated and wouldn't sleep before her bath again, meaning it was pulled forward for a second night. What will our sleep doctor say? Naughty us. But we had no choice, she was beat.
Tonight my other sister and her husband James have come over for tea, joining Jo, my husband and I for homemade chilli, nachos and Saturday night telly. Love having family over these days. Especially now we are housebound in the evenings. Can't think of anything I'd rather be doing.
