London
Out of the train window, round about 9pm, round about Nunhead, the strange cloud formations I'd been watching were turning orange. An hour and a quarter earlier, out of the bus window not far from Wembley (about 17 miles back) they'd startled out of a clear blue sky (extra).
What cloud formations look that streaky and last that long?
Then I caught up with Tivoli and saw WhiskyFoxtrot's blip and learnt that the RAF and the Red Arrows had been performing over grey, cloudy London around mid-day.
Exhaust and contrails, 7 hours later? Still hanging in the air after all the real cloud has gone?
It pleases me to find a gasholder in the bottom right of both pictures.
