Aborigine Fires on the Horizon ...

... beyond Lake Disappointment. Another salt lake, a little bit boggy in spots, and intriguing to walk over and around. The Martu aborigines have been burning off the spinifex, in an effort to clear the land for other plants, and it made for an eerie glow on the horizon. 

We camped just up from the lake, in amongst the spinifex. It's an art not getting prickled if/when you get out of your swag during the night!

We met up with a cyclist during a dune stop, who is biking the whole CSR by himself. What a marathon! He was/is very well provisioned and looked in great condition! See Extras

We also had a close encounter with another vehicle, who just refused to get out of the way of the oncoming traffic. It made me wonder how he'd managed to get that far. He even got out and inspected his sparkplugs while he was blocking traffic. Duh! - also in extras.
