Chocolate break!

Today, Saturday 7th July, was the big event of the birthday weekend - a wonderful lunch in the medieval dining room of the house we were staying in. Everyone was there - all 26 of us! We sang to the birthday boy, toasting him in champagne of course, and he made a very nice little speech! 
An amazing birthday cake had been made by one of us (not me), with several model vintage cars on the top!
But here I am with my four grandchildren munching chocolate cake mid-afternoon, as they took a break from their den making and ball games!
The games, and the chatting amongst the grown-ups went on until it was dark! It was a very warm evening altogether!
