Gardening Day

Feeling better today. Last night invited to Petra & Christian for dinner. Petra had prepared a lovely meal but I could not do it justice and was hardly able to eat anything. Today I could eat 3 servings.
Spent the day in the garden trying to get the autumnal jobs done that had been interupted by the heavy snow & cold snap 2 weeks ago. Has done quite a bit of damage especially to those plants that although no longer growing have interesting winter foliage. It's due to stay above freezing so have chanced moving some shrubs & perennials. Had to check out some of the books to make sure the planting positions were right. May try to buy seeds from the Uk for 2013 as the choice here is very limited but not in a rush - have to get Christmas behind us first.
Fell asleep on the sofa this evening as German TV programme particularly desolate. Woke up and zapped through the programmes until I came to Sky & see the news on the BBC. Have to get up to speed on all this & the Jimmy Saville affair. Have no idea what it's all about, JS was not my favourite DJ (but ahead of Tony B.) but I did respect him for his support of Stoke Mandeville where my 1st girlfriend worked for a time. She's in Vienna this week & suggested we met for lunch but it is a 1200km roundtrip. After over 35 years it would have been nice to have met up with such a special person. I hope she & Richard have a good trip.
