What was it?

The photo is of my leaf rake, the question relates to an incident earlier today.

The sky went dark, the shiny thing disappeared then some droplets of liquid fell and left some marks on my rake, can anyone tell me what that was?

This evening we went for a meal at friends, RF made a lovely starter and I made an average pavlova, it was a good evening,
