snow, blue sky and berries

It is an astonishing -17C today: definitely colder than normal though still not that close to the record cold for this day: -25C!!

The snow storm of the last 48 hours is over and has left a thick white blanket and clear blue sky. Despite the cold, the sun's rays are strong enough to melt snow that then freezes into slippery ice as soon as the sun sets.

This picture captures the brightness and colour that is characteristic of Calgary winter.
