Wolverley

Wolverely Church sits high above the village and the canal on a chunk of Sandstone.  It was very attractive as the sun was going down tonight.

We had been to a very hot little pub for a meal to celebrate Dad's 88th birthday coming up on Monday.  They were very overstretched tonight - they have a beautiful sitting area right next to the lock on the canal - so food and service were not particularly good this evening.  And they had no ice!  A gin and tonic without ice is just not the same.

It was also an evening with two people missing.  I couldn't persuade Mom to come with us at all.  She was in one of her stubborn and unpleasant moods tonight.  I have to try to respect her right to make her own decisions but that's hard when you know there is no logic nor understanding behind the decision, just fear.  And, of course, the TYM was not there.  He has gone back into more secure accommodation this week but none of us really know what is going on.  Like his grandmother, he has his own decisions to make and we have no right to know anything as far as the law is concerned.

You can see our little family group in the extra, minus the photographer and plus big nephew's young brother-in-law who joined us.

Done baking today for the sing and tea service we are having at church tomorrow!  Rock cakes, fairy cakes and chocolate sponge!
