Mates
Went to the small Armistice ceremony in town. I always find these very touching, and this was no exception.
I could only see one person who looked like he may have served in WWII, but there were quite a few returned soldiers from Vietnam.
After the ceremony I chatted to these two and found out that they had been in the same platoon, of which Graeme, on the left, was commander and that they meet up with other members annually.
Graeme is a recipient of the Medal for Gallantry, not that he mentioned.
He seemed like a lovely unassuming and modest man, as I suspect many of these recipients are.
I would have preferred this in mono, but then this shows the yellow ribbon with the Gallantry Medal on the left.
