Watch The Birdie
My Dear Fellows & Dear Princess,
I have just been googling this little bird. It is known as a "Silvereye" or a "White Eye" or here in NZ, a Waxeye.
Of late, two of them have been hanging around on the Poop Deck. Maybe they are a pair. They are very sweet. As you can see, I struggled to get a good picture of one of them. I zoom in as far as I can from the hallway - any closer and they flit away. And anyway, they are only wee - about the size of a wren and dwarfed by squabbling sparrows.
Sunday is a good day for watching birdies. It's a day when time slows down and work is forgotten. I love sitting by the window and watching the little feathery chaps hopping about and talking to each other.
I do hope Mr. & Mrs. Waxeye continue to visit. Maybe one day I'll even get a good picture of them.

SUNDAY EVENING - UPDATE:
So I was just in the kitchen and shouted through to Cazza, "Would you like a Trumpet?"
"Yes please!" she replied.
I put the ice-cream next to her chair and when she sat down she was all, "Oooh! A Trumpet!!"
"That's what I just said," I said.
"Oh, I couldn't hear what you were saying, so I just said, 'Yes please' on the off chance,'" she told me.
Clearly, 99% of my conversation to her must involve my OFFERING HER STUFF. Spoiled!
I suspect this is also why, whenever I am in the kitchen, I inevitably turn around and find Jasper & Punky staring at me.
