Highway Stars

After a very good dinner at La Taberna 2 in Castillo with the Gang, we went along to the free rock concert inside the castle itself.

ADANA were providing the bar and the tiny space inside the castle walls was packed to bursting with would-be rockers.

The main acts were tributes to Queen (Spanish) and Deep Purple (English).

Both were terrific, but "Freddie's" accent was a bit strong at times, as in "Another one bites ze dust"!

DP were really good and the singer's vocal range was astounding, matching Gillan's own where it mattered. Child In Time was a real hit, as were other staples, such as Space Truckin', Black Night and, of course, Smoke On The Water.

We eventually crawled into bed about 3. I'm afraid I was a little the worse for wear and this morning I seem to have little to no voice.

I must have enjoyed it!
