A bridge too far!

After yet another decent nights sleep (whats going on?!) we had a quick breakfast then a short walk to get a newspaper.

An hour lounging before driving down to the canal for a nice leisurely walk. Its been lovely and warm 25/6 degrees today with a nice breeze. We walked along the towpath, then dropped down into Pennington Flash, had a wonder around, resisted going in any of the hides, before scrambling up the embankment back onto the canal towpath....was quite chuffed with myself, it was really steep!!

We carried on until we reached the bridge nearest Leigh town centre, where we saw these guys canoeing towards us....blip sorted! I did take plenty of other shots, but I think this shot has a certain impact. We then headed to the indoor shopping area for a pitstop in Costa ;-)

Feeling refreshed, we about turned and headed back the same route armed with a bottle of cold water, that soon disappeared!

Funny how our leisurely walk turned in to somewhat of a marathon, 16,000 steps later we arrived back at the car :-D

We caught the latter part of the World Cup Final.....sorry, I wanted Croatia to win :-(

We have had a Jamie Oliver Chicken tray bake for dinner, so easy, just shove it all in together ;-)

Just about to have a Spiced Rum and Coke :-)

Rain forecast for tomorrow, we shall see :-/
