Wild Thunderstorms All Around and Over Us.......
We had another hot, humid and miserable day today out at the nursery ( 2 days in a row, now) These extreme temperatures and humidity cause the clouds to rise very high, 70 or 80,000 feet in the air. The higher the clouds build, the more energy goes into storm clouds and comes out as violent thunderstorm with fierce lightening, or a very hot storm (active). At one point I heard the sizzle before the clap of lightening and thunder!
Todays pic is broken root from a barbados tree... At the end of the root (which has been exposed to air and become a branch with bark) is viable, tiny roots coming out of one end. I potted the roots in very tiny aggregate, approximately 1/4" in diameter. The broken root/branch was placed at an angle. If this takes, the branches will develop and cascade down the side of the pot. The pot is 2 1/4" tall and 2" in diameter. Time will tell whether this little experiment will work or not. I really hope so! Cross your fingers!!!!!!
The picture had to be enlarged a great deal to allow the viewers see some detail. It was dark due to loads of clouds and storms so it appears really grainy. At least you can get the idea.
