A Summer day in Bradford

I am doing an on line course in Mindfulness photography and this weeks lesson is about encoraging creativity by breaking habits. I habitually photograph nature, so I decided to try street photography. I enjoyed it though afterwards felt : is this ethically right to photograph people in public without their permission?
