Mystery Moth

Yesterday I went for a walk along the canal where I saw this day flying moth that I can't identify. It was so pretty fluttering like a little fairy feeding on the purple loosestrife!

I can't find it in my books or the net but it didn't help that it wasn't still for a second. The way it was hovering reminded me of a hummingbird hawk moth but the colours are wrong and it was smaller. Whatever it was I enjoyed watching it!
