The Gazweasel Times

Some old ways are still pretty good

Wooden trackways have been around for a very long time (the Sweet Track, for instance, was built around 6,000 years ago) and it's one of those things that just can't be improved on. Ok, the timber is now treated and therefore lasts longer and they use nails rather than wooden pegs and animal guts but even so, the basic structure is the same. And, of course, they serve the same purpose - improved bog egress. That's kind of what this one does. It also preserves the bog and its inhabitants from human and canine intrusion. This is a new section at Thursley Common.
