Unexpected finds
A visit to Kenmore and Aberfeldy was the order of the day. This was partly to enable me to visit the grave of Thomas Fyfe my 4th great-uncle in Kenmore who was also the the first station master in Aberfeldy. This we did. We also came across a new grave in the churchyard in memory of the infant son of Maharajah Duleep Singh and his wife the wife the Maharanee Bamba Muller who had died one day old. On returning I home I located the death certificate and found it was a premature birth and did some further research to find out more about Duleep Singh and came across an interesting tale.
Prior to this we went up Kenmore Hill. It might only be a short walk but was hugely rewarding. The path (which was well maintained) took up through heather and newly planted woodland (Scotch Pines, Rowans and Birches) and gave great views down Loch Tay. I also spotted three deer.
We lunched at a beach side cafe in Kenmore and then had coffee and cake at the Watermill in Aberfeldy (being proper tourists for the day !).
