Our Unsung heros

Today is Remembrance Day , time to pay homage to those who have sacrificed in war for us to live today in peace.Deservedly these days this day and event gets far more media coverage and here in Belgium it is a national holiday.
During all wars ,animals have been used to help in often difficult work from horses in the trenches to spaniels used today as sniffer dogs. They too have often made the ultimate sacrifice and lost their lives whilst serving us Humans.
This shot is close to my heart as it shows an Airedale used as a carrier dog during world war one .
This is my alternative 11/11 tribute for today ..
