Echinops, (Globe Thistle)
After several busy days we had a day entirely to ourselves. It was on a pleasant walk around Mote Park that we saw these Globe Thistles dancing in the brisk, and thankfully cool breeze.
It was similarly cooler at the allotment this afternoon while we tackled the weeds and attempted to quench the thirst of plants crying out for water.
Our regular watering of beans and courgettes is paying off but the absence of water on the spuds is affecting the yield. It’s not been an easy year for gardening of any sort.
A courgettes risotto for dinner, with cherries and a convivial strum on our respective instruments rounded off the day.
