Birch in Autumn

A walk on the heath found a lone birch tree with it's bright seasonal leaves looking scintillating against the sunlight. I caught it in a lucky moment as the sun appeared through the predominate cloud cover. I couldn't resist sharing this image.

With the fire now alight most days, the house gets rather dusty and I decided that , even for me, there is a limit to ignoring the patina. I'm not going to get another chance for a few days so transformed into Mrs Spit'n'Polish for the most part of day. Moving out a great deal of 'other peoples possessions' over the last few days made my toil satisfying for once. In a cleaning frenzy I even attacked the windows! Oh my.. enough! I might get to like it!
