Birthday Princess Party

Lily had her birthday party today, a joint Princess and Pirate party with her bf (not sure if he is best or boy) Malcolm. It seemed to go down well - not a healthy bit of food in sight and much loud music and running about. Perfect!

Our day was nicely rounded off with a trip to Truro to see Greg Davies perform at the Hall for Cornwall. My cheeks ached from laughing so much!

So an update from yesterday...
I think I mentioned that Red was given a 'NOT CO-OPERATIVE' label across his notes. He lived upto this.
We had been advised that he would need to wear a sling in an ideal world. An attempt was made with a prototype straight jacket style sling. He removed it within seconds. Twice.
Then he had to have the cannula removed. Only he wasn't willing to let the nurse do it. Eventually we pinned him down and she whipped it out.

We got to Falmouth in time for school pick up and Ally's parents evening meeting. Brilliant for once. All positive! He is maturing and the hard work put in by so many people since he started school is really paying off. Academically we have always known that he is very capable and this continues to be true but with the added bonus of being in a class with a few others at a similar level so they have a real competitive edge going on. Perfect conditions for Ally. Behaviourally he has turned himself round is coping with situations that even 6 months ago would have sent him into a rage. We are very proud of our big boy today.

Ben took the boys home while I went to collect SmellyKittenCat from the vets with Lily. By the time we got back, Red had removed his dressing.

We rang the ward and we advised to take him along to the MIU up the road and ask them to dress it, telling them to call the ward if they had any query. Ben took Red along and returned 30mins later with no dressing. The nurse had been unwilling to battle with Red...

Back over to Truro for a new dressing while I fed the other 3 and got them to Beavers/Cubs/Scouts. Ben and Red arrived shortly after I got in with a heavy duty dressing that so far has remained in place...
