Runes

A rest day.  We did think of visiting the Mauritshuis ('Girl With a Pearl Earring' by Vermeer) but that was yesterday's thought and I did not mention it today.  Neither did anyone else.  Finished post-processing my Oslo shots, did a lot of housekeeping (vacuuming the whole house, laundry load, ironing load, the kitchen), packed my handcarry case for the next two weeks, and took a not-so-good nap in the afternoon.

AW worked in the garden, as usual, and in the evening, he went to visit M, H's wife, as H had a (brain) stroke while we were in Stockholm and so couldn't tend to our garden and mail while we were away.  It turns out that M came to our place instead, and even left a little note about what's been going on.  Actually, we already heard about the stroke on our first day in Oslo as AW had wanted to talk to H about picking us up.  H himself picked up the phone and sounded so garbled.  AW took the phone from me and heard about it.  What a shock!  We later called S, that other bridge friend, who said it had happened a couple of days back.  We called S on our way home two days ago and he told us that H needs absolute and complete rest and may not be called, and to contact M instead, hence AW's visit tonight, but also to pick up his house keys.  We have been worried about H and are glad he's quickly recovering and now needs to undergo the necessary physiotherapy exercises to get his 'motoric' skills back.  It will be a hard climb, but H has always been very motivated and is fighting back as best he can.

I'm a bit behind with my bookkeeping ... and my sleep.  This shot is of the two postcards I bought in Copenhagen.  I will mail them to friends one day, on a birthday or maybe during the winter break, so best to shoot them now.  No?
