Apero
Inspired by our holiday in France.
A wonderful day to sit outside with a glass of champagne, and some “ nibbles” or Apero as the French call it.
An occasion tinged with a little sadness, as it will be the last time our friends come for lunch before they return to South Africa to live.
So we made the most of it.
I really made an extra effort with these.Took ages to make, but well worth it in the end as they were enjoyed by us all.
Spanish - style chicken bake for our main course, and Summer pudding and cream for dessert.
The excellent champagne which F and J had brought back from France a few years ago was one of the best I have tasted.
We provided a French rose and a red both brought back this year.
Fun and laughter with our dear friends, sat in the sunshine. A day to remember.
