Job done
A busy week when life demanded more time than was available, so sorry about the lack of blips.
The only trouble with having friends round is that the time goes so quickly. Two late nights (that is, late for us....) meant that when the low early morning sun called through the curtains this morning, it was ignored again for a preferable lie in. As always this meant that the 'if only' phrase was used a little more, and eventually the photographer in me had to make do with what was left.
The recent night frosts have ravaged the runner beans, and it was a good time to remove the offending plants, hopeful that some seed has been spared for use next year. The leaves reminded me of the leathered face of the 4th century 'Tollund Bogman' found in Denmark in the 1950s. (Reflections of a life of usefulness and contribution which has passed, yet the evidence remains, to be found and pondered over.)
Other plants have suffered a similar fate, and the rotavator was brought into action to smarten up the veg. garden. The compost bins are now overflowing with remains of the Goodies, but a trip to the tip is on the cards to dispose of the Naughty Ones.
