I have an opportunity to go to Haiti for work. I don't want to go. I haven't come up with anything positive. Heat, humidity, violent crime, extreme poverty - unless you have family there, is there something positive that I am missing because of how the country is depicted?

When I went to Lahore I had a bodyguard. It was insanely hot but it wasn't humid and there were fascinating things to see. (Different company.)
Actually, when I went to Lagos I had a bodyguard. I didn't do anything because it was too dangerous. I had a boring time but I have great stories - no really. (Different company.)
I went to Mozambique, a safer country where the crime currently is usually just property crime, and was assaulted. I won - but it still happened. It was very important that I not fall again, I had been very careful for two years not to fall, and during the assault I got a big lump on my head.

I think if I had not had the experience in Mozambique I would be more willing to go to Haiti.
