Country Roads ...
Woke up to rain (although hardly unexpected as it had been forecast). We spent this morning exploring East Perthshire - mainly tracking down farms and hamlets where my ancestors from these parts (antecedents of Janet Fyfe 1824 to 1895, one of my 32 great great great grandparents ) lived.
We were both struck by how different the landscape is compared to "Highland Farmshire" and driving around helped bring to life how they might have travelled between villages, got to know one another, and then moves from countryside to Perth then Dundee.
We saw a red kite and then a buck roe deer whilst driving (after not seeing anything of note whilst tramping in hills day before).
We also discovered the Arts and Antique Centre in Abernyte where we had a pleasant browse around followed by an extremely tasty lunch.
One more day in Pitlochry after this before heading back down to Edinburgh on Sunday and back to work on Monday.
