Bench Handles

Mrs RH and I had a walk down the front at Lytham St Annes this afternoon, there are lots of benches looking out to sea, they all have these creatures on the handle nicely picked out in gold paint. I'm not sure what animal they are meant to represent but I think they could be lions.
