Peach in Blue Dish

Upon receiving a perfect peach from a dear young woman,
I first inhaled the fragrant promise of sun-warmed skin.

Succulent weight and astonishing color filled my hands. 

Once at home, I searched for and found a shining blue dish, 
and the scarlet blush on the yellow peach intensified.

The artist saw with a timeless eye the woman's pleasure.


Note: The art book under the "Peach in Blue Dish" is a co-mingling of the works of Gauguin and Van Gogh. I was drawn to the vibrant colors which seemed to affirm my play, but later was pleased by the presence in the image of the artist's eye. Whose eye? Who cares? Image worth looking at large...
