Collateral Damage

This web was a couple of metres from the sawhorse where I was cutting wood. Most of the dust fell straight to the ground, but the fine stuff was shot from the chainsaw right into the web. I felt sorry for the spider. Orb web spiders eat their webs at night to build a fresh one. She will not be able to eat the wood dust, which will be a nutritional loss in the middle of winter.
