Cutler Harbor, Cutler Maine
This is photograph from nearly the end of a perfect day in Maine and on Campobello Island, New Brunswick, Canada. Mid morning, we drove to Lubec and crossed the Lubec Narrow's Bridge onto Campobello Island and headed to the Hubbard Cottage at the Roosevelt International park. Folk harpists from Grand Manan Island and Campobello were giving a concert on the wrap around porch over looking the Bay of Fundy. The Hubbard Cottage is next to FDR's summer cottage and we were told that Eleanor Roosevelt had danced on this very porch at summer parties held by the Hubbards.
We had a picnic lunch after the music and then drove to the end of the island to Head Harbour Light, one of our favorite spots. We watched porpoises and finback whales surfacing out in the Bay of Fundy and of course, the beautiful lighthouse at high tide.
Back through customs with no issues, we had dinner in Lubec( yes, another lobster roll) and drove home via Trescott on the Dixie Road. We drove into some scenic fog areas and emerged in Cutler, one of the most beautiful little harbors in Maine. There lovely pink sky over the east side of Machiasport at our last stop before home.
Sadly, tomorrow will be spent packing up and preparing for the 6 plus hour ride home on Monday. T is right back to work on Tuesday morning, so reality is fast approaching.
For the Record,
This day came in warm and sunny, absolutely perfect.
All hands had a wonderful day.
