Evening light
Granada: at every turn there is something else wondrous to see or smell. We arrived shortly before dusk then headed into the centre where light glowed from lamps, shops, small market stalls and illuminated buildings. At one point a mixture of chamomile, mint, cinnamon and liquorice enticed us and we found ourselves at a shop selling all these and much more from rows of small baskets.
We are staying in the Albaicín - an ancient twist of narrow streets, steps and small squares. We discovered quite how maze-like the area is as we tried to find our way back to our hotel... in the rain...
