Evening Light and Emus
We popped down to the town late this afternoon as Miss T wanted an ice cream. We watched the last Herm Ferry of the day slip back into the harbour as the P&O Cruise ship Oriana was preparing to leave. It has been a beautiful day and we have spent it relaxing at home as it has been a very busy week.
Late last evening we moved the Emus from the small pen to their forever home in the field. It wasn't the easiest experience as they had to be encouraged into a horse box one by one. Thankfully they arrived in one piece and seemed to like their large paddock. Sadly the trauma came just one hour later when somebody nearby had fireworks. We didn't see the fireworks but the very loud explosions continued for nearly 10 minutes. Both Emus threw themselves around and have a few injuries. They seem settled today thankfully and we hope they will be fine.
Extras are some photographs just after they arrived! Not the best photos but it gives an idea :)
