This is the newly renovated hall ceiling at the Royal Naval College in Greenwich.
There are only a few weeks before the scaffolding is taken down and the opportunity to see the ceiling up close is gone. Absolutely fascinating.
Painted by Sir James Thornhill (who was Hogarth’s father in law) between 1707 and 1726.
