Last Train

While we are waiting at the STOP board ahead of a crossing, the last train of the day has crept into the loop.  One of just seven passengers is leaning out and looking at us :-)   A quiet day on the railway ... could be a busy one on the beach just a few miles away!

My assistant today was a volunteer who first worked here in 1955.  A guard for sixty years he chose to step back in grade a few years ago.  Hoping I have his ability when I'm a septuagenarian.  His grandson is a volunteer here too, you could not wish to meet two nicer folk.
