Double Treat
Today was MrsMY's husbands birthday and coincidentally tomorrow is MrsMY's birthday. Originally we had been invited to the party to be held tomorrow (Saturday) but last night the message came through that due to the terrible weather forecast, they were cancelling it. Then shortly afterwards another text saying "what the hell, we will bring it forward a day".
Shortly before we set off, got a message saying not to make too much mozzarella tomato salad as only six people coming. At least that was what Angie understood but it was too late as she had already made it and anyway it keeps for a while, swimming in its Balsamico vinegar. .
So when we arrived at 6:00 pm 18:00 we were more than surprised to see the place literally swimming in people. most of whom were half-naked and in the pool and at least as many children, toddlers and breastfeeding babies as adults. Everyone seemed to be having a great time with perhaps the exception of the birthday boy who was slaving over the BBQ (in the orange shorts) while everyone ignored his shouts to "Come & Get It" and thus he was trying to juggle with keeping sausages, steaks, various Balkan mince things warm while getting enough quantity done. Apparently, lots of people had not been able to make it (which was the falsely understood message) but perhaps for the BBQ master, it was a good thing.
There was also a table of grandparents and those of such age such as myself taking things easy and watching everyone enjoy themselves. In the Blip also Angie and MrsMY having a chat - far right.
Was a great afternoon and when it was as good as over, most people having to get home early to put off-spring to bed, the thunder started. I had to dash home to disconnect telephone/router and thought that once it was over I could drive back taking the dogs and do their evening walk back home on foot while Angie drove.
It was not to be and eventually I returned and collected Angie and as always we she were was the last guests to leave.
Thank you, the entire Family as at least two of the three generations of the household were actively involved in setting it up. It was a very enjoyable party.
