Glendale Festival
Up at the crack of dawn to finish off the display board. Then, after breakfast, MrM and I set up our stall. The festival is a very well-organised affair and, by 9.00am, market stalls had been set up along the High Street. All we had to do was take our things up the road and arrange them on the table. Not the usual kind of festival stall - this time we were just making people aware of our presence, and advertising MrM's musical instrument lessons.
The opening parade was led by the Coldstream Pipe Band, and during the day there was Morris dancing, Belly dancing, Line dancing, and various other displays. In the bus station, all-day music - bands playing until late evening. MrM went to play ay an afternoon gig across the Border, leaving me to 'man' the stall, so I didn't manage to see any of the dancing or entertainment. But Barbara, a lovely Belly dancer who stopped to look at the stall, kindly let me take her photo.
Packed up the stall by 4.30pm (with JC's help) and, when MrM got back, we indulged in a couple of drinks as we watched one of the bands. A long, but good, day.
