Soaked

I think we made best use of the facilities today! After our breakfast we made use of the various hot spring pools and baths. In extra #1, we moved through 3 different styled private baths that went from warm to hot with the latter next to the river where you could cool down in, a bathing shower, a view of the family pool and an evening last dip. The main blip is of the family pool. The hot waters runs 24 hours and is piped around the pools.

The other side of this stay is the meals which I commented on yesterday. Extra #2 is various photos of breakfast and dinner. There was loads of food and we couldn't finish it all, or chose not to :-) I ate some things I never thought I would ever eat!

In the afternoon we drove to Takayama and extra #3 has photos of the trip and town. Photo 1 shows the road we went on to get through the  mountains followed by a 2.4km tunnel. Photo 2 was roadworks with a helpful man and his red flag, and when I stopped he gave me a bow! Rice fields are everywhere they can fit them in... I still need to understand where the rice comes from! In Takayama there are various shines and Photo 5 is of a new temple (1966) for a new religion!! We just drove past...
