South tower Aldeburgh
Relic of a time long past. About 100yds apart stand two towers on the shorefront at Aldeburgh. Apparently two rival groups of pilots used to look out and signal incoming vessels to offer their services to pilot then through the channels. This practice didn’t last long, ending with the arrival of railways apparently. Guess who had a fascinating visit to Aldeburgh museum today
