Cicada

When I stepped out the door, this strange creature greeted me.  With its frog-like face and moth-like body, it just hung on to the door frame, seemingly unfazed by my presence.  From nose to wingtips, it was almost 2 inches long.  I had never come across such an insect, so of course a photo was in its future... despite the boring perch.  

I looked it up and discovered that it is a cicada.  Not at all what I was picturing a cicada looked like.  We haven't heard the cicada 'song' yet... That would be a first for me as well.
